I suspect that in the not-so-distant future we will look back on this time in higher education as an awkward transitional stage; a point in time in which we were stuck between different notions of how best to ‘do’ higher education. laptopspicsmall One of the examples we may use to describe this awkward stage will be the presence of laptops in the lecture hall. Students are busying messaging/twittering/blogging/surfing while the prof is lecturing. This article describes the situation well:
