JISC is supported by the principal bodies and agencies in UK post-compulsory education, the Committee was set up in February 2008 to conduct an independent inquiry into the strategic and policy implications for higher education of the experience and expectations of learners in the light of their increasing use of the newest technologies.

  • JISC is funded by the UK HE and FE funding bodies to provide world-class leadership in the innovative use of ICT to support education and research.
  • JISC manages and funds more than 200 projects within 15 programmes. Outputs and lessons are made available to the HE andFE community.
  • JISC also supports 50 Services that provide expertise, advice, guidance and resources to address the needs of all users in HE and FE.
