From the Lisbon Council. The video below discusses a new type of organisation; one that draws on talent regardless of its location and thinks in terms of “projects”, rather than long-term “jobs”. It’s not a new idea. People having been talking about the increasingly “freelance” quality of work for several years. My sense, though, is that we are now at the point when the pieces of the puzzle are in place to make this sort of arrangement a reality for more than just a few high-flying experts. The technology, organisational models, communication tools and the work patterns that are needed to scale up this kind of approach to work are here. The video explains this concept nicely.
